Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based, internationally recognized training program that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges and crises. Just like traditional first aid provides tools to help someone in physical distress, MHFA equips employees with the confidence and skills to support someone experiencing a mental health concern.
Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, or substance use.
Develop strategies to approach and support a colleague or peer in need.
Understand how to connect someone to appropriate professional help and community resources.
Learn self-care strategies to maintain their own mental well-being while supporting others.
Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to take MHFA training. No prior training or knowledge on mental health is mandatory. If you have a family member, friend or colleague who is experiencing a mental illness, this course will give you the hands on experience in assisting them. We encourage human resource professionals, supervisors/managers and first responders to partake in this training.
Builds a culture of care and psychological safety.
Reduces stigma surrounding mental health conversations.
Improves early intervention, preventing issues from escalating into crises.
Enhances productivity and employee retention through stronger peer support networks.
